Screensets

Screensets are different interfaces that can be created for Mach3.  Screensets for Mach3Mill use a .set extension and screensets for Mach3Turn use a .lset extension.  All screensets should be saved in the Mach3 installation directory (typically C:\Mach3).  Using a screenset is as simple as opening Mach3, clicking on View - Load Screens, and then selecting the desired screen.

The screensets available for download here come in 1 of 3 formats: .m3s, .zip, or .swf.  The installation procedure for each format is slightly different.

.m3s

.m3s is a special Mach3-specific format designed especially for screensets.  These files can only be used with Mach3 version 1.90 or later.  Using an .m3s file is fairly straightfoward:

.zip

.zip files are the ordinary compressed/archived filetype commonly used throughout the internet.

.swf

.swf are Flash screens designed to be used with the Flash plugin.

3 Axis Router Screen

New Router Screen Thread

Special Features:

There is no toolpath on the Run screen. The reason for this is that CPU usage is about 75% lower without the toolpath on the screen, and when your cutting, you're usually looking at the machine, not the screen. This should make this screen run better on slower PC's than the standard screens.

Unzip all the .png files to Mach3\Bitmaps\Router\ and put the Router.set file in the Mach3 folder.

It's setup for spindle to use Output 1 and Coolant Output 2.

Special Features:

Simple, automated installation via an automated installer.

Complete new user manual (180+ pages) covering basic functionality of Mach3 as well as the enhanced features implemented by MachStdMill.

Some of the enhanced features available from MachStdMill include:

  • Probing: Fully integrated support for probing operations.
  • Tool Handling: “On the fly” tool length offset (TLO) measurements during a tool change.
  • WCO and Tool tables: Has the ability to save Tool tables and WC tables to/from disk and generates printed reports of tables.
  • Multiple Screen Resolutions: Supports both 1024x768 and 1280x1024 resolution screens.
  • Full Documentation: In addition to the new user manual, the package also includes multiple reference manuals used when customizing Mach3.
  • User extensible: Can be easily customized by user. Yet, the need for customization is minimized as MachStdMill provides documented script interfaces for common needs (e.g. Tool changer macro integration into the M6 sequence).

    Special Features:

Gives Mach3 the look and feel of a "Windows" application.

Auto Tool Zero for multiple tools - Designed mainly for router use, 2010 incorporates auto tool zero for multiple tools. Zero the initial tool, and subsequent tools are zeroed automatically after being changed. This makes tool changes very quick and easy, approaching the ease of use of an automatic tool changer. No measuring, and no tooltable length entry is required. Just load the tool and go! Toolchanges during program execution now require only a single button press! If you spend a lot of time changing tools, you need this screen! (Both metric and imperial units supported.)

    Huge toolpath display!

Large, easily readable position DRO's (both machine and work coordinates) as well as Distance, IJ, and CV mode, current units and offset on all screens.

Capable of jogging on all screens, with quick changing of both jog speed and step increments to user defined settings, using one set of shortcut keys.

    MDI available on all screens.

Flyout Diagnostics screen, with additional space for user LED's - Note: Mach3 limitation causes MDI to be hidden when Diagnostics screen is open, but it is still functional.

    User definable Park position.

Both 3 axis (shown) and 4 axis versions included.

    Includes XY Probing Wizard.

    English and French versions available.

For Touch displays from 7" and up to more than 24"

Consists of 10 different native resolutions from 800x480 to 1920x1080

Each set consists of 26 pages/Screens, more menu based, simpler to use, easy navigation through main menu

All buttons are the same size: large and easy for touch

Simple manual jog flyout for live jogging all six axes, a panel for incremental jogging all six axes, and a "Save And Go" screen with 8 memories for all 6 axes

Tools for all kinds of ToolZero, both if you already have a ToolZero Switch and if want a good system: there is a Large switch guide, ideas for how to build your own switch for no cost to more complex switch ideas

There are three screens containing ToolZero:

    • A manual / semi-automatic system to reset the tool relative to the material or part for all 6 axis
    • A system for reset tool XY relative to a fixture and homing switch
    • If you switch the tool manually, for each tool change there is a fully-automatic tool control system for tool reset of Z-axis with 4 different methods/macros so all switching systems are covered, and using several tools is now a pleasure

Special Machine screen with a more graphical view of all axis and a Special fast homing system

"Stop To Be Continued" system where you at any time in the middle of a large job just press a button to stop the machine and everything is saved and for example next day with a few button presses can continue from the exact same place where it stopped

    Many small handy features:

    • A button on main screen for opening a text file for your notes (it always opens the same file so you always have your notes close to hands)
    • Quick Setup: which is a shortcut through menus for quick setup
    • Buttons for output on run screens and input LED - good to manually start the spindle, pumps, etc.
    • Button to zero all machine coords - good for offline testing where toolpath easily comes out of focus

With lost unit, you can see your machine accuracy and detect future wear or slope

    Version:

    1.0

    Feedback:

    pbj(at)oncable(dot)dk

    Special Features:

The idea of a new ScreenSet was partly to get a more symmetrical layout which could thereby make room for a few more functions and all 6 axes, and even larger toolpath display on all pages, but still keep the same simple and inspiring environment with the same well functional features such as Mach3 standard screenset contains. And at the same time allow for multiple skin and an opportunity also to use MACH3 on a larger screen with a great graphics resolutions. All 6 axes are implemented on all screenset pages, without it seeming crowded, this is convenient since many Stepper Cards come with both 5 and 6 axis, this is convenient for other automation functions such as Tool change.

    • More symmetrical layout.
    • Realistic 3D graphics. The same graphics environment style is echoed on all pages.
    • All 6 axis implemented in all pages.
    • Two screen resolutions the standard size 1024x768 and 1400x1050 for larger screens.
    • Ability to customize own functions and still keep the same layout design.
    • A new page design - Simple Run - with a very large toolpath display and only the main functions.
    • 3 output buttons on / off on the main page to manually turn on/off external cooling pumps, etc.
    • 4 input led on the main page for status or warnings.
    • Manual Jog “wheel” (TAB) with all 6 axes implemented.
    • The layout of buttons, dro, and displays are different but names and functions are still the same as Mach3 standard screenset.
    • Inspiring environment with different skin / background graphics, something for every taste.
